About us

Creating doors of opportunity since 1997

A nonprofit community-based organization undertaking community and housing development activities throughout the Rapides Parish area of Central Louisiana.

Our story

A vision to revitalize downtown

The Inner-City Revitalization Corporation (IRC) was founded in 1997 through the vision of Norman Martin and others who wished to revitalize the downtown, historical areas of our cities and towns.

Nearly three decades on, that work continues — building and rehabilitating homes for first-time buyers, operating affordable and supportive rental communities, and teaching the financial skills that make lasting homeownership possible.

IRC is a certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) through the Louisiana Housing Corporation, and a 501(c) nonprofit.
